During the autumn 2025 three talented interns have joined the VALOR team – welcome Sonja, Emma and Julius!
Sonja has experience in strategy work, pricing, market analyses, and operational development across several industries. Her industry background includes industrial construction, media, retail and telecommunications. Emma has previously worked in the industrial and technology sectors, where she gained broad experience in analytical and communication-focused tasks, including market analyses, client relationship management, process improvement, and business analytics. Julius has previous experience in data analytics in both quality management at KONE and product management at Nokia.
Let’s get to know our new colleagues:
What raised your interest in VALOR as a place to do your internship?
Julius: VALOR’s strong reputation in its focus sectors made a great impression on me. I was particularly interested in the social and healthcare team because of the societal significance of its projects and how well they aligned with my own interests. In addition, I attended an event organized by VALOR and had the opportunity to meet the team, which further strengthened my decision to apply for the internship.
Emma: What appealed to me most about VALOR were the interesting projects across diverse sectors. In addition, through student events I had already gained a warm and entrepreneurial impression of the working community, which encouraged me to apply for the internship
Sonja: I was drawn to VALOR because of its agility. It felt like a place where I could get involved in many different kinds of work and roles within projects, which I can already confirm based on my first weeks here. I had also heard a lot of good things about the working atmosphere.
How have your first weeks been going?
Julius: The experience has exceeded my expectations. From the very start, I was involved in an interesting project where I had the chance to participate in client meetings and contribute to presentation materials. I have also enjoyed getting to know VALOR’s great team through various events.
Emma: My work at VALOR has started off at a fast pace, and I’ve been able to take part in a wide range of project work tasks from the very first week. I’ve been warmly welcomed and have found the work highly rewarding.
Sonja: Right from the start, I got to join some interesting projects, one of which has already been wrapped up. In that case, we advised the client on the best markets to expand into. Alongside project work, I’ve also had the chance to take part in student events representing VALOR as an employer, as well as in VALOR’s afterwork gatherings, which have been a great way to get to know colleagues beyond my own project teams.
What expectations do you have for this autumn?
Julius:This fall, I look forward to the opportunity to deepen my understanding of both consulting and the various industries I will be working with. I am particularly interested in the social and healthcare sector and hope to gain broad exposure to different types of projects in this field. In addition, I look forward to gaining more experience working directly with clients.
Emma: This autumn, I especially look forward to collaborating with my colleagues at VALOR and discovering my own strengths through work. Outside of work, I’m looking forward to cozy autumn evenings and an upcoming hiking trip.
Sonja: At work, I look forward to those “aha” moments when different pieces of information come together into a bigger picture as projects move forward. Outside of work, I’m excited about trips to our summer cottage for some outdoor adventures, trail running in Koli, and a getaway to Ireland.
