VALOR is strengthening its team with an experienced forest industry expert as Jari Suominen joins as a Senior Advisor starting April 1. 2026
Jari brings 30 years of diverse and solid experience in leadership roles within the forest industry. Over the course of his career, he has worked extensively across the entire value chain, leading areas such as forest ownership, wood procurement, wood construction, sawmills, as well as the production of wood components and paper.
“Jari’s addition supports VALOR’s ambition to strengthen its position as a strategic advisor in the forest industry and to deepen our ability to combine industry expertise with hands-on leadership experience in client work,” says Henrikki Palva, Managing Partner at VALOR.
Jari has held positions as CFO and Head of Business Divisions, served as a member of the executive management team in a forest industry group, and worked as CEO in a family-owned company.
Three years ago, Jari transitioned into consulting to broaden his perspective across new companies and businesses. During this time, he has supported nearly ten companies operating across the forest industry and wood construction value chain, helping them tackle a wide range of strategic and operational challenges.
“I wanted to gain a broader view of business and bring my experience to support different companies – and this goal has been achieved extremely well,” Jari says.
During his time as an independent consultant, Jari identified situations where a broader team and additional resources would have added value to client work. At the same time, his long-standing appreciation for teamwork strengthened his desire to become part of a larger expert community.
The connection with VALOR was formed through discussions with Henrikki Palva, where a shared mindset and values quickly became evident.
